The TestSight® Developers Kit is the starting point for developing powerful custom applications using the TestSight module.
The TestSight Developers Kit is differentiated by Read Only or Full Edit. Read only means that TestSight System objects (e.g., Circuit Boards, Parts, Nets, etc.) cannot be created under program control. Full Edit means that TestSight System objects can be created and edited under program control.
The TestSight Read Only version is called the TestSight System Viewer™ and is designed for applications that display data only, such as Circuit Board repair, rework, or inspection.
The TestSight Full Edit version is called the TestSight System Editor™ and is designed for applications requiring the creation and modification of TestSight System Objects, such as Fixture design tools or Translation utilities.
Currently the Developers Kit is only available for the TestSight System Viewer.
The TestSight Developers Kit includes a comprehensive Visual Basic® demonstration program. If you are developing in Visual Basic, an effective approach is to start with this program and modify it to your application.
TestSight imports the industry standard GenCAM™ IPC 2511, GenCAD, Mentor Graphics Neutral, Cadence Allegro® "Extract", PADS PowerPCB, Mentor Graphics Integra (New), and IPC 356, as well as Board, Board_XY and Fixture files TestSight also reads and writes a native Extended Markup Language (XML) file format for easy data interchange and fast file loading.
Programming with the TestSight module is simple and intuitive. TestSight organizes a circuit board into logical objects that can be accessed under program control.
TestSight is available for commercial or non-commercial uses. Commercial use means embedding TestSight into a product for resale. Non-commercial use means using TestSight internally within a company to enhance the production process.
