TestSight Designer™ incorporates the tools needed to design and manufacture an ICT fixture. These tools include a powerful, macro defined probe placement capability, a graphical plates design editor, and an optimized CNC router output that can be loaded and run without an intermediate editing step.
TestSight Designer can load pre-defined kits with all the standard drill, cutouts and keepout areas already defined. These kits are developed using all the editing functions available in TestSight Plates Designer.
The Probes Placement function in TestSight Designer matches the characteristics of candidate target pads on the circuit board with desired target pad characteristics, including type, shape, size, drill size, access settings and mask relief. These characteristics can be programmed into a macro that will automatically place probes based on the selected criteria, as well as the minimum spacing requirements between probes. Probes Placement maximizes ICT access coverage as well as probe size.
The Plates Designer is a set of graphical tools that allow the rapid design of fixture plates for ICT. These tools include rectangular, circular and polygon cutout design, automatic probe drill sizing, transfer probe drill design, pressure rod design (for pneumatically activated fixtures), and guide pin placement and drill design. Plates Designer can save many hours of design effort, especially for zero flex fixture plate designs.
The CNC Router Control output is fully optimized tool for generating Fadal syntax router control files that can be loaded and run without an intermediate editing step. The CNC Router automatically selects the optimum drill and end mill tools, and sets all the tool speeds from a pre-defined table, including RPM, Route Feed, Plunge Feed and Step Depth and Peck mode. The CNC Router can reduce waste and save hours of machine setup time.
